It has been a very long time since I last blog about food. As what my description for this blog said, I love photography and anything about technology & gadgets…and of course food too.
I remember those days when I first started blogging (back in 2004-2005), most of my blog entries are about places I’ve been to and where I go for makan. Lately since I started blogging again after 2-3 years of silence, it has been more about technology and gadgets. Of course I don’t want to abandon my love for food altogether. So basically now I’m back at it.
My latest addition for my food blog is what I think is the BEST fried chicken I have ever tasted in my life…ever. Uncle Lim’s fried chicken in Subang Jaya now falls to the second spot after this awesome goodness.
Do you like chicken rice? I love it. Especially at Chee Meng chicken rice in Bukit Bintang. But that one comes in either roasted or steamed chicken. But what about fried ones? That is when the awesome sesame chicken rice at Gerai Ah Kow comes in.
Situated within Medan Selera Jalan Raja Muda Abdul Aziz (opposite Hospital Besar Kuala Lumpur), Gerai Ah Kow is usually packed during lunch. So please expect to have a little bit difficulties of finding a parking spot when you’re coming here at peak hours. Also, do come early because the sesame chicken rice sells out fast.
If you come alone, order the half set. That will cost you about RM9 per serving but if you’re there in pairs, you can order a bigger set at double the price. Yes, it is slightly expensive for a plate of chicken rice. But trust me, this will be the best fried chicken you’ll ever tasted.
Don’t believe? See the photos.
Drooling yet? Go and make your way to Gerai Ah Kow for this succulent fried chicken the next time you’re in the area. Don’t worry. It’s halal.
To get there, you just have to make your way towards Hospital Besar Kuala Lumpur if you’re on Jalan Tun Razak heading towards PWTC. At the junction before the hospital, turn left and go to the end of the road until you see a Medan Selera on your left. Find a place to park and find gerai no.2. You won’t miss it.
Here’s a map to the medan selera for you.
There you go. My first food blog (after so long) for this year (I think). Tell me what you think about this place (if you’ve been there) in the comment. Thank you for reading.
