MWC 2016 is coming up next week in Barcelona Spain. But LG has already made an announcement on the upcoming new LG Stylus 2 smartphone with a slight improvement from the first Stylus edition.
The LG Stylus 2 is an entry-level stylus enabled smartphone with a huge 5.7″ 720p screen size. When I say entry level, I really mean entry level with the competitive price range. This can be a good competitor to Samsung’s Galaxy Note smartphones that also comes with a stylus pen. Unlike most stylus pens, the stylus that comes with the LG Stylus 2 will have a nano-coated tip which supposedly offers higher accuracy.
Specifications for the Stylus 2 are mostly what you can find in an entry level smartphones. Comes with 1.2GHz quad-core processor, which I’m assuming the Snapdragon 410 and 1.5 GB of RAM. The storage space will come in 16GB of space and expendable via MicroSD card. As for the camera, it comes with 13-megapixel main shooter and 8-megapixel front camera. The Stylus 2 supports LTE/4G network and have a huge 3000mAh battery to last you for a whole day. Comes in three different colours, white, titan and brown. Best thing about it is that it comes with Android Marshmallow 6.0 on top of LG UI.
“LG Stylus 2 provides both the big screen and premium notetaking functions of a premium large phone at a price of a mid-tier phone,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “This device is another example of our commitment to the mass-tier segment where there is so much opportunity for growth and creativity.” – LG Press Release
We can only know more about the new LG Stylus 2 after the MWC 2016 official launch and spec update. With the huge 5.7″ screen and latest Android Marshmallow OS, the device will be among the contender for the best entry level smartphone for this year. Until then, we shall wait for it.
