After the arrival of Razer phone last year, other mobile phone manufacturers are in play to create their own version of gaming phones. Xiaomi came out with their gaming phone in April called the Black Shark, followed by Nubia’s Red Magic a few weeks later. And now ASUS is eager to be in the game with their ASUS ROG brand gaming phone.
For those who don’t know, ROG stands for Republic of Gamers by ASUS. For years since its establishment, ASUS aimed to put an ever-greater emphasis on PC gaming. This process resulted in the 2006 founding of the Republic of Gamers brand (ROG), formed for the sole purpose of delivering the most innovative hardcore hardware for truly dedicated gamers.
And after their success in producing high-end hardward for PC gamers, they are looking into producing a gaming smartphone which is rumoured to be launched this June.
ASUS has been producing some awesome looking smartphones all this while with great innovative features but a gaming phone under the ASUA ROG banner? This is great news!
Before you jump the gun, this is just a rumour. Nothing is confirmed yet but speculations are there. It is to be powered by the best, namely the Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with 8GB of RAM. Having a powerful hardware is essential for smooth gaming experience.
With the current trend of mobile gaming and the rising popularity of RPG games such as PUBG, phone manufacturers are pushing for better and more powerful devices to ensure buttery smooth gaming experience while playing these power demanding games. No surprise that the ASUS ROG gaming phone will have the best hardware included.
ASUS is readying to launch its gaming-oriented smartphone during this year’s Computex in Taiwan (June 5-9). Until then, we just have to wait for the full specifications.
