A Karnival Kesihatan Kanak-Kanak (4K) was recently organised at MBSA Hall, Kemuning Utama, Shah Alam. This health event for kids and their families was jointly organised by Persatuan Sahabat Harapan Selangor and the State Health, Welfare, Women and Family Empowerment Committee led by Y.B. Puan Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud.
Free and easy access to health check-ups for children is the first and crucial step to raise awareness and understanding among parents with regard to their children’s health and development progress. The health screenings by DoctorOnCall for children encompasses growth plotting, developmental milestones, visual and colour blindness test and autism screening. In addition to children-specific screenings, adults were also offered blood pressure checks, diabetes and body weight assessment.
The Karnival Kesihatan Kanak-Kanak programme received a warm welcome from residents of all ages around the area. There are 2 categories of Peduli Sihat Schemes. Category A is for families with a household income of RM3,000 and below per month while Category B is for individuals 21 years and over earning RM1,500 and below per month. This scheme can be utilised by 250,000 families or approximately more than 2 million Malaysians with a household income of RM3000 and below.
