On December 10th, Pantone, the professional colour institute, released the colour of year 2021 as ‘Ultimate Gray’ and ‘Illuminating’, which resonate with realme’s visual identity of its signature ‘realme gray’ and ‘realme yellow’. realme can be described as the trend vane of the tech industry.
realme updated its visual identity in early 2019 together with the world’s top design studio Pentagram which led realme design team “realme Design Studio” to complete a full set of VI visual designs for realme. Eddie Opara, an internationally renowned Pentagram partner and chief designer, created the brand image for realme, giving the brand a young, trendy and cutting-edge vitality. Through the comprehensive upgrade of its visual system, realme hopes to create a brand image and visual system as its representative symbol, in which realme’s global young user groups can find resonance, expressing their attitude of being unique, trendsetting, and real to themselves.
The visual identity system and logo are all based on vibrant golden yellow, this colour will be called ‘realme Yellow’. It represents power, style, modernity and youthfulness as well as positive connotations in both Eastern and Western cultures, such as positivity, optimism, friendliness and emotional energy, wisdom, harmony, prosperity. The main auxiliary colour – gray, represents professionalism, calmness, and inclusiveness; and will be used with other auxiliary colours including classic black and white as well as a light gray tone in realme’s overall brand VI.
realme never stops leapfrogging in its product design, recruiting top design masters like Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa, Hermes cooperated designer José Lévy, South Korean pop artist Grafflex and many more in joining realme Design Studio to co-create trendy tech products for realme. The realme X2 Pro Master Edition created by international industrial design master Naoto Fukasawa adopted ‘realme gray’, resonating with the Pantone colour of the year 2021 ‘Ultimate Gray’.
