First of all, many thanks to OPPO Malaysia for the review units.
I received the brand new OPPO Watch Free and Enco Air 2 wearables a few days ago and I am really excited to share my initial previews for both devices. I am astounded by the simplicity of both wearable designs but at the same time, feel premium.
Let’s check them out. And meanwhile, check out my new TikTok page (yes I’m still new) and also watch the unboxing videos for both OPPO Watch Free and Enco Air 2 below.
Let’s start with the OPPO Watch Free
What you will get in this long box is the watch itself, charging cable and some documentation. It may seem simple but my first impression of the OPPO Watch Free itself was totally the opposite of simple. The Watch Free looks amazing. It feels super premium with its comfortable textured silicone strap and golden watch shell. The colour variant that I received is called “Vanilla”. And it does look like it. The other colour variant is black, which is somewhat standard.
The rectangular display on the watch is large, but not too large nor too small. It feels great on my wrist and most of the time I never realise that I have a watch on me. It has a 1.64” AMOLED display and I absolutely love the typeface it uses. It has a 326ppi display so everything looks really high-def and protected by scratch-resistant glass.
The initial startup is simple. It doesn’t have any buttons on the sides so there’s no way you can press anything to turn it on. Simply attach the magnetic charger around the back and it will boot up. Then you simply download OPPO’s Hey Tap Health app from Google Playstore or Apple App Store and you’re good to go. Connecting and syncing the Watch Free to your phone is made simple by the app.
Now, what are the features on this OPPO Watch Free? For starters, it is a fitness and health smartwatch. It aims to give you better sleep time and to live healthily. What it has is a comprehensive all-day sleep monitoring with blood oxygen level and snore monitoring. And yes, since I received the OPPO Watch Free, I have been wearing it to sleep. It monitors my sleep patterns and behaviours. It even reminds me to go to bed when I stay up too late.
It also comes with over 100 different types of exercise modes. Just select your desired exercise mode and go for it. Everything from your heartbeat to the distance will be recorded and sync with the phone app.
The new AI Smart Watch Face 2.0 looks amazing too. There are many watch faces to choose from. As for battery life, the OPPO Watch Free can last up to 14 days on a single charge.

Next is the OPPO Enco Air 2
In case you’re wondering, OPPO Enco Air 2 is a True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earphone. This is OPPO’s second version of the Air series TWS following the Enco Air.
After unboxing the Enco Air 2, what I like most is the translucent casing cover for the TWS. It just looks different and unique to its own. Some sort of an identity for the Enco Air 2. The TWS earphone itself has a similar design to the Enco Air but with much internal improvements.
The OPPO Enco Air 2 is light. But those with larger earlobes may feel the TWS to fit a little loose. For me, it fits just nicely. If I were to go out jogging (emphasis on “if”), the Enco Air 2 will not fall off that easily. So for me, that’s a plus point.
Initial tests on the sound quality are satisfactory. I was able to bump up the volume to 100% and it still sounded good. It has multiple sound effects that you can choose from the Hey Melody app and comes with a 13.4 mm speaker with composite titanium-plated diaphragm.
It also has a low-latency binaural synchronous transmission with Bluetooth 5.2 so you can play games on your phone with much lesser audio delay and of course, with the Game Mode turned on.
Another cool feature is the AI deep call noise cancellation. It functions as real-time separation technology of human voice and background noise that’s based on AI deep learning. It utilises the DNN (Deep Neural Network) to simulate the human binaural auditory system, intelligently and dynamically tracking human voice.
This ensures a clear, smooth and unimpeded call experience even in a noisy environment. It is also good to note that the OPPO Enco Air 2 is IPX4 rated water resistant TWS but it can only handle sweat or light rain. Best of all, it has 4 hours of continuous audio playback capabilities on the earphone and 24 hours for the entire device including the charging case.

My initial opinions
I honestly think that both wearable devices will exceed expectations for some people. It is made simple and yet able to deliver more than what it is expected. I mean, I did not put my hopes up high with the OPPO Enco Air 2 and yet I was blown away with the initial sound test. More tests will be done and I will elaborate more on that in my full review.
As for the OPPO Watch Free, I never thought it would look this good. I love the leather textured silicone strap and the watch itself looks premium. I certainly prefer this interface and typeface as compared to some others that I have. Plus, it has a larger AMOLED screen on it.
For the in-depth and full review, hold on for another couple of weeks for me to fully test and use both while making them my daily supporting devices. And do keep coming to this website to check out the full review in two weeks.
Until then, I’m going to have fun with these two devices.
