The tournament beginning 1st June will be a stepping stone for the Play-2-Earn (P2E) community to expand their horizons into cryptocurrency.
Esports Players League (ESPL) and Yield Guild Games Southeast Asia (YGG SEA) will be launching the Malaysia Infinity Nationals 2022 from June 1st to June 5th.
The event is an Axie Infinity tournament that aims to bring forth a new era of competitive gaming into the Malaysian esports ecosystem and P2E community, targeting over 500 participants this June.
From 1 April to 25 May, players can register their participation on the tournament’s official registration page and stand a chance to win a total prize pool currently valued up to RM35,000 in crypto, cash, and giveaways.
This will be ESPL’s second Axie Infinity tournament which previously saw registrations being closed early in the Luno Battlexie: Winter Cup back in 2021.
Stephanie Kuan, Chief Operating Officer of ESPL commented, “There’s a booming interest in the ecosystem surrounding P2E. This includes players who treat it as a full-time job, investors looking to finance technologies, communities looking to grow or pivot, and the excitement of discovering what viable cryptocurrency technologies can do for esports.”
ESPL and YGG SEA agree that the P2E ecosystem should be integrated as it can benefit the local gamers and communities. This tournament allows everyone to create more value for the investments made through in-game activities and gain rewards like additional cryptocurrency, or Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), in addition to being connected with new people and having fun.
“This is incredible as we are developing a platform for players to play, socialise, and earn while nurturing user growth within the community as well as sustaining the expansion of the crypto gaming industry for the long term,” Stephanie added.
“The union of the crypto with online gaming with the likes of Axie Infinity marks an interesting shift in the future of esports that impacts communities directly. It’s an exciting time for all of us to be involved,” mentioned Ryan Kan, Marketing Manager for YGG SEA Malaysia.
The tournament will also be joined by sponsors ShopeeFood, Adappter, and Asia Pacific University (APU) along with Pangolin NFT and Pentas.io as official media partners throughout the tournament. For more information about the Malaysia Infinity Nationals 2022, click the link(s) below:
