Modern household owners are starting to adopt smart home systems these days. From automated lighting systems that can be configured with a smartphone, to voice activated air conditioning units that will keep you comfortable at night. All these smart systems can be monitored and activated directly from your smartphone with a “set it and forget it” method. I am one of the people who uses some smart home appliances.
But then it comes to keeping your living and dining room floors clean, I will need the best of the best. I can say this one thing, my wife is very particular when it comes to floor cleanliness. We have two growing toddlers in your household and she keeps the floors sparkling clean all the time. But it is a very tiring job for her. The manual sweeping and vacuum followed by mopping in the end really took a toll on her in the long run. I have to figure something out to help her with the chores. And the new Roborock G10 is here to the rescue.
Introducing Roborock G10
I am very sure most of the consumers are familiar with the Roborock brand by now. To me, Roborock is the best of the best robot vacuum brands that money can buy. Their solid reputation with the previous version of Roborock robot vacuums plays a role when it comes to choosing the most reliable robot vacuum. And you can’t go wrong with Roborock.
The new Roborock G10 is something else. I have previously tested the Roborock S6 Max that I thought to be the best at that time but since then, they have made so many improvements in the functions and features for each new model that they almost perfected it. The new Roborock G10 is close to perfection.
At first look, the G10 looks very similar to the other other models such as the S6 Max. The round design is shaped to maximize coverage when it moves around to clean the floor or carpet. But the significant difference is that it is a little heavier than the previous model I tested. The Roborock G10 Robot Vacuum Cleaner deploys a dual function of sweeping and mopping, a feature that has come to be a regular on modern vacuum cleaners. But what made it stand out is the self cleaning function including a brush that will also clean the mop cloth from the bottom of the docking base.
Let’s start from the top. The docking base is quite large and the reason is to accommodate the dual water tank that can be installed and removed from the top for easy fill and cleaning. When I said dual water tank, one is to fill up with clean water and the other is a tank to fill up used and dirty water from the robot vacuum. This way, you will always get clean and fresh water every time the robot vacuum dock at the base.
There is also a brush located at the bottom of the base, facing upwards to clean the mop cloth, as I mentioned earlier. Every time the vacuum docks at the base, the mop cloth will be cleaned by this brush. I think this is a novelty idea and a great feature to have. I no longer have to detach the cloth to manually wash, dry and reattach it back to the vacuum. I did exactly that on the older S6 Max model. And to be honest, although the S6 Max works great at vacuuming and mopping, it is somehow not as effective with the mopping. But with the G10, it worked superbly. Another great feature is that the mopping area can cover more than 3000 sq ft, which is more than sufficient for my small living and dining room.
On top of that, it comes with Intense Sonic Mopping feature as they call it, where it adopts a high-frequency vibration design of up to 3000 rpm motor which can effectively remove dirt on the ground. And with the combination of the floating mopping module and high-frequency vibration, specks of dirt and dust can effectively be removed even if the surface is rough and uneven.
Surely you wouldn’t want the Roborock G10 to mop your carpet too right? If you have carpets in the house, you don’t have to worry. When it senses a carpeted area, the Roborock G10 will lift its mop to vacuum without stopping the cleanup process. Using a new ultrasonic sensor, carpets are quickly and accurately recognized.
As for the vacuum suction power, I feel that the Roborock G10 really sucks, in a good way. It comes with another new feature called HyperForce suction where the 2500Pa HyperForce stormer is 25% more powerful than in the previously tested Roborock S6 Max, giving the G10 some extra grunt to better capture fine dust from the floors and reach deeper into carpets. And to support all that suction power, it also comes with an improved all-rubber brush that adds durability and improves resistance to hair tangling.
Most importantly, you can automate the cleaning schedule any time you want. The Roborock App is available for both Android and iOS, so the compatibility is well covered. To set up and sync your new Roborock G10 is easy. You simply have to launch the app from your phone and start searching for a new vacuum. When it’s still new, just turn on the G10 and it will automatically be in pairing mode. The Roborock app will detect the G10 and from there and the linking process is pretty straightforward.
Once that’s done, you’re good to go. You can either set it up on scheduled cleaning, selecting the vacuum power and scrubbing intensity of the mop. I would advise you to start the cleaning process immediately so that the G10 can also start mapping the floor area. From here, you can also edit the areas where you do not want the G10 to go by adding an invincible barrier in the map. Although the G10 can sense staircases and height, you do not want to see the G10 go tumbling down the stairs, right?
The previous S6 Max mapping feature is only based on 2D layout. With the new app update and G10’s sensor, the mapping can now be viewed in both 2D or 3D layout. I prefer to use the 3D layout as it looks more cool that way. It can even add furniture and floor materials to create a more accurate representation of the area. I also have the G10 on schedule cleaning at 3am everyday. At that time, it might as well do some cleaning while everyone in the household is asleep. When morning comes, the floor is all squeaky clean, all thanks to the trusty Roborock G10 robot.
Conclusion
Are you not convinced yet? If you’re tired of cleaning your living area day in and day out, it is time that you acquire some automated assistance. The new Roborock G10 is notably the best robot vacuum in the market right now, in my own opinion. The new features work incredibly well and my wife has never been happier. As I said earlier, she is extremely particular when it comes to floor cleanliness. The Roborock G10 is the first non-human assistant she had that does the job better than some human she knows (that would be me).
So if you’re looking for a robot vacuum to assist you with your house chores, you can’t go wrong with the new Roborock G10. The suction power is good even on carpets. The mop does its job so well that my wife gets to rest more these days and the value for money is a no brainer. There is practically nothing that I don’t like about the new Roborock G10. And no, I am not paid for this review. It is based on my own honest opinion and my wife’s feedback.
