PKK is a non-profit welfare organisation supporting over 500 individuals across 22 shelter homes, rehabilitation centres, and special education centres in the state of Johor.
Guest of honour YB Teo Nie Ching, Deputy Minister of Communications joined Maxis representatives and volunteers to carry out this festive charity effort. Together, they engaged in a series of games, traditional activities, and treated the community to a delightful lunch buffet while fostering meaningful connections in the spirit of CNY festivities.
Maxis also provided back-to-school supply sets for the children and hygiene kits for the senior citizens from the homes. Additionally, the PKK Kulai Centre received quality-of-life contributions from Maxis such as new mattresses, several wheelchairs, a supply of adult diapers, and grocery supplies.
“It is a tradition for us in Malaysia to celebrate the Chinese New Year together in an atmosphere of harmony and prosperity. Many thanks to Maxis for organising this celebration with the people of PKK and Johor Bahru,” said YB Teo Nie Ching, the Deputy Minister of Communications.
“We are grateful for this opportunity to make a meaningful impact and to bond with the local communities here.
