Canalys analyst Le Xuan Chiew explains, “Vendors are seizing new opportunities by promoting premium offerings that set them apart, such as cutting-edge AI features and services on flagship products, and using ecosystem-based product strategies.”
Moreover, building on an improved economic outlook and consequent sales in emerging markets such as APAC and Latin America, in the affordable smartphone segment, Counterpoint research expects a wave of Chinese OEM expansion and competition into the premium and luxury market to be imminent as brands refresh their lineups.
