Hawke Electric Vehicles has expanded its UK event hire fleet to 234 vehicles, including wheelchair-accessible units and event ambulances. The company is publishing itemised, all-in hire pricing to tackle the hidden delivery and driver fees that price smaller festivals and estates out of the market.
— Hawke Electric Vehicles Expands UK Event Fleet to 234 Vehicles and Publishes Itemised Hire Pricing
LONDON, United Kingdom – 17 July 2026
Hawke Electric Vehicles has expanded its UK event and festival buggy hire operation to a fleet of 234 vehicles, adding passenger buggies, utility vehicles, wheelchair-accessible transport and event ambulances ahead of the 2026 summer season. The expansion is underpinned by a new partnership with a global event agency, which cannot be named under a non-disclosure agreement.
The fleet is built for the full range of British outdoor events — from a single buggy at a country-house wedding to multi-vehicle operations running crew, artists and guests across a festival site for a week.
Part of the expanded Hawke event fleet, staged ahead of a summer showground booking.
The fleet in numbers
The 234 vehicles break down as follows:
- 111 passenger buggies – 43 six-seat petrol, 39 four-seat petrol, 24 four-seat electric and 5 six-seat electric
- 71 compact two- and four-seat utility vehicles — 45 two-seat and 26 four-seat, for supervision, marshalling and fast site access
- 44 flatbed load carriers – 25 petrol and 19 electric, for cabling, staging, waste and bar runs
- 5 event ambulances – 3 petrol and 2 electric, for medical teams working away from hard standing
- 3 wheelchair-accessible vehicles
Fifty of the 234 vehicles are electric. Hawke specifies electric where quiet running and zero exhaust emissions matter most — guest transfers, covered arenas, noise-sensitive venues and early or overnight site movements — and petrol where long duty cycles, towing and heavy or churned ground make refuelling the more practical choice. Organisers can mix both across a single booking.
The pricing problem
Event hire pricing is rarely published, and the day rate is only part of the bill. A six-seat people mover typically starts around £270 per day for the vehicle alone. Delivery and collection commonly add £150 to £500 depending on distance and access, and a trained driver a further £150 to £260 per day. Once everything is counted, a single vehicle on site for one day — delivered, collected and driven — commonly lands between £900 and £1,500. Hawke publishes these ranges openly on its hire prices page.
“What frustrates organisers isn’t the day rate — it’s what arrives after it,” said James Brown, Event Hire Manager at Hawke Electric Vehicles. “A headline price looks manageable, then delivery, collection, driver cover and out-of-hours charges land on the quote and the total is a different number entirely. A small food festival or a family estate doesn’t have a procurement team to unpick that, and they end up walking away from vehicles they genuinely needed.”
“So we itemise everything up front — vehicle, delivery, driver, VAT, the lot — and we put the market ranges on our own website so people can check us against them. You should be able to see the whole number before you pick up the phone, not after.”

From one wedding to a full festival
Hawke supplies weddings, country houses and private estates, racecourses, county shows, marathons, airshows, food festivals, Christmas markets, fireworks displays, equestrian events, golf tournaments, university open days, product launches, hotels and resorts, holiday parks, visitor attractions, and film and television production. Vehicles are delivered nationwide. Organisers can size a booking themselves using the company’s event buggy hire calculator, or see the full range of options for golf buggy hire across the UK.
The accessible and medical vehicles reflect a gap Hawke says organisers raise repeatedly. Wheelchair-accessible transport is often arranged separately and late, and event medical teams are frequently left to cross large sites on foot or in vehicles unsuited to soft ground. Holding both in the same fleet means they can be added to an existing booking rather than sourced from a second supplier.

Buying as well as hiring
Alongside hire, Hawke sells event and festival buggies to venues running their own transport year-round. Vehicles are delivered door to door across the UK, backed by a three-year warranty and a 24-hour priority call-out, and can be customised — seating, cargo beds, liveries and accessibility fittings — to a venue’s requirements. For venues with repeat annual demand, Hawke says ownership often works out cheaper than a third or fourth season of hire.
