Marquis Holdings Publishes Inaugural Quarterly Outlook on Bulk Commodities and Economic Growth

Marquis Holdings has published the inaugural edition of Marquis Quarterly.

— Marquis Holdings has published the inaugural edition of Marquis Quarterly, its periodic research and perspective publication examining the physical foundations of economic growth.

The Q2 2026 edition, Bulk Commodities and the Growth Imperative, considers why steel, aluminium, energy and infrastructure remain central to productive capacity, economic development and rising living standards.

The publication presents a positive but disciplined outlook. It argues that global growth continues to require investment in power, transport, housing, industrial capacity and resilient infrastructure. These systems depend on the availability of bulk commodities and on the ability to finance, construct and operate major projects through economic and commodity cycles.

The paper draws on current forecasts from the World Bank, World Steel Association and International Energy Agency. The World Bank forecasts its metals and minerals price index to rise 17 percent in 2026. Worldsteel forecasts global steel demand of 1,724 million tonnes in 2026 and 1,762 million tonnes in 2027, with African steel demand growth forecast at 3.8 percent in 2026 and 4.6 percent in 2027. The International Energy Agency forecasts global electricity demand growth of 3.7 percent in 2026.

The publication also examines the potential contribution of responsible resource development to host nations. Properly structured projects can support employment, skills, fiscal revenue, export earnings and infrastructure that serves the wider economy. These outcomes require commercial discipline, stable partnerships, effective governance and integrated infrastructure.

Marquis Holdings said: “Economic growth has a physical foundation. It depends on reliable power, transport, industrial capacity and the materials from which those systems are built. Our focus is on assets and infrastructure that can endure while contributing to the productive capacity of host nations.”
