— The Cordwainer, a family-owned memory care assisted living residence on Boston’s South Shore, has been named winner of the 2026 BOSS Award (Best of the South Shore) for Best Senior Living Community. The community was also recognized as runner-up for Best Place to Work in Norwell.
The BOSS Awards, presented by South Shore Home, Life & Style Magazine, honor the businesses and organizations voted best in their categories by residents across the South Shore region.

“We are thrilled to be named the winner of the BOSS Award for Best Senior Living Community, and honored to be recognized as runner-up for Best Place to Work in Norwell,” said Maria Lastoria, Executive Director. “These achievements are a true reflection of the incredible dedication, compassion, and teamwork of our staff. We’re so grateful to everyone who has supported us, trusted us, and contributed to making our community such a special place.”
Located at 555 Cordwainer Drive in Norwell, The Cordwainer was purpose-built exclusively for memory care, offering small households and personalized support in a home-like setting for seniors living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. The community is known for its Learned Environment℠ program, a signature cognitive therapy approach built around artistic expression, music immersion, and language learning, designed to engage residents’ minds and preserve their sense of self.
“Thank you to our residents, families, team members, and the entire community for helping us reach this milestone,” added Tamilyn Liesenfeld, co-owner of The Cordwainer. “We couldn’t have done it without you.”
This recognition adds to a growing list of honors for The Cordwainer, which has previously received the South Shore Magazine Star of Excellence (2022–2024), the Norwell Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year award, and a national award for community design.
