Veteran industrial executive joins newly created President role to help scale operations and support Cornerstone’s continued growth
— Cornerstone Detention Products, Inc., the leading detention equipment contractor and security electronics integrator in North America, today announced it has appointed Scott A. Edgecombe as President.
Founder Charles “Mitch” Claborn continues to serve as Chief Executive Officer, focusing on the company’s long-term growth strategy, including M&A and expansion into adjacent security and safety end markets. As President, Edgecombe will focus on overseeing the company’s day-to-day operations and execution as Cornerstone continues to expand its footprint across domestic and international markets.

Edgecombe brings more than 30 years of executive leadership experience across global manufacturing, engineered products, and distribution businesses. He joins Cornerstone from Tensar, a division of Commercial Metals Company (NYSE: CMC), where he served as global CEO and managing director, overseeing worldwide operations, manufacturing, sales, marketing, engineering, and business integration. Throughout his career, Edgecombe has built a record of creating value through organic growth, operational excellence, market expansion, and disciplined acquisition integration — consistently developing high-performance teams along the way.
He holds an MBA from Georgia State University and a bachelor’s degree in Polymer Engineering from Illinois State University.
