Los Angeles-based pop/rock project The Sonic Universe, led by singer, songwriter, and musician Alex Arndt, has released “Into The Light,” continuing a growing catalog centered on connection, courage, freedom, and positive change.
— The Sonic Universe has released its new single “Into The Light,” the latest chapter in the Los Angeles-based pop/rock project led by singer, songwriter, and musician Alex Arndt. Released September 18, 2026, the song combines anthemic pop/rock with electronic textures and explores the tension between technology and humanity, fear and courage, and control and freedom.
Arndt created The Sonic Universe around the idea that music can be a force for connection, inspiration, and positive transformation. The project explores themes including love, courage, freedom, consciousness, and the ways people relate to themselves, one another, and the world around them.
“Into The Light” arrives as part of a growing body of work rather than as an isolated release. Arndt’s catalog includes “Down the River,” “Champions of the Light,” “Sweet Angel,” “Lady Like You,” “Free Forever,” “Shine,” “Hold The Line,” “Love Each Other,” “Watch Over Our Souls,” “Love Beyond,” “Shatter,” and “The Inside of A Rainbow.” “Down the River” explores surrender and moving with life rather than constantly fighting against its current, while “Free Forever” reflects themes of personal freedom and sovereignty. “Love Each Other” centers on world peace, compassion, and human connection, while “Shatter” addresses the walls that divide people and the possibility of breaking through them.
For Arndt, the continuing catalog provides a way to explore different aspects of the human experience through accessible pop/rock songwriting. The songs move across themes of connection, resilience, freedom, spirituality, and social consciousness while remaining rooted first and foremost in music designed to connect emotionally with listeners.
The project also reflects a background that extends beyond music. Arndt earned a degree in Environmental Science with a green engineering track from Virginia Tech and built a professional background spanning land surveying, solar power, and renewable energy. He continues to work in solar power today, helping homeowners and organizations transition toward cleaner energy. He says those experiences have helped shape his perspective on sustainability, technology and humanity’s relationship with the world around it.
Arndt’s musical work has also taken him around the world. He has performed in dozens of countries including Ireland, the Netherlands, Japan, Korea, Peru, and Australia, as well as at events and venues including Ultra Music Festival, SXSW, Summerfest, NAMM, and Grand Park Los Angeles.
The release of “Into The Light” continues that ongoing development. Arndt is already looking ahead to upcoming songs including “Wait For You,” “The Shield,” “Frequency,” and “Baby Wow,” which will continue expanding the emotional and thematic range of The Sonic Universe.
Rather than positioning the latest single as a standalone statement, Arndt sees “Into The Light” as part of a larger body of music that continues to develop over time. At its center is a question that runs through much of the project: how do people move forward without losing sight of what makes them human?
“Into The Light” is currently available to stream and purchase through platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and iTunes. Learn more about The Sonic Universe at TheSonicUniverse.com and follow the project on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
