TOKYO, Nov. 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Rudi Lumanto, Chairman of the ASEAN Japan Cybersecurity Community Alliance (AJCCA), called for stronger regional cyber resilience across ASEAN and Japan during his keynote speech at the ASOCIO Digital & AI Summit 2026 in Jakarta.

Rudi Lumanto, Chairman of the ASEAN Japan Cybersecurity Community Alliance (AJCCA)
Rudi urged ASEAN–Japan to strengthen collaboration, capacity and connectivity as AI accelerates both digital growth and cyber risk.
Speaking on "Building Regional Cyber Resilience: Collaboration, Capacity, and Connectivity Across ASEAN–Japan," Rudi highlighted that 87% of surveyed respondents identified AI vulnerabilities as the fastest-growing cybersecurity risk. The presentation also noted that 48% of breaches involved a third party, illustrating how increasingly connected digital ecosystems create shared risks across organizations and borders.
His central message was simple: "Connected economy means connected risk." As cloud services, AI systems, digital payments, supply chains and critical infrastructure become increasingly interconnected, national cybersecurity alone is no longer enough. Regional resilience is needed to address shared dependencies.
Rudi identified three key foundations for regional resilience: Collaboration, building trusted relationships and joint response mechanisms; Capacity, ensuring people and institutions can respond effectively; and Connectivity, creating reliable channels for sharing warnings, information and assistance.
He also highlighted how AJCCA is putting these principles into practice through its Working Group on Threat Intelligence and Business Matching Program, connecting cybersecurity communities, expertise and solutions across ASEAN and Japan.
The ASOCIO Digital & AI Summit also recognized entrepreneurs and organizations that have successfully applied AI and digital technologies, highlighting practical innovation and business impact.
Among the award recipients, GMO Cybersecurity by IERAE, Inc. received the ASOCIO AI in Cybersecurity Award 2026 for its innovative use of artificial intelligence to strengthen cybersecurity operations while protecting enterprise AI systems against emerging threats. Mr. Hikohiro Lin accepted the award on behalf of the company.
GMO Cybersecurity by IERAE is a member of the Japan Network Security Association (JNSA), which is a member organization of AJCCA, reflecting the connection between Japanese cybersecurity innovation and regional collaboration across ASEAN and Japan.
The award recognized the company's integrated approach combining "AI for Security," which uses AI to enhance cybersecurity capabilities, and "Security for AI," which protects AI technologies to enable their safe and responsible deployment.
Through the integration of AI agents into its Security Operations Center (SOC) and Attack Surface Management (ASM) operations, the company has automated vulnerability intelligence analysis, proof-of-concept (PoC) generation, and detection signature creation. According to information submitted for the award nomination, these initiatives have increased SOC processing capacity by approximately five times and reduced Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) by 50%, without additional headcount.
In addition, its AI-Agent Penetration Testing service uses adversarial AI to identify vulnerabilities in enterprise AI systems, including prompt injection and data leakage. The nomination reported up to ten times broader testing scenario coverage and approximately 60% fewer false positives. Supported by a Responsible AI framework described as aligned with global standards, these initiatives demonstrate how AI can strengthen cybersecurity while ensuring that AI systems themselves remain secure.
The recognition of GMO Cybersecurity by IERAE also highlights the importance of practical technological innovation in advancing the regional cyber resilience emphasized in AJCCA's keynote address.
The three-day summit was attended by senior government and regional leaders, including Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, the Vice Minister of Tourism, representatives of the Ministry of Creative Economy, senior officials from BSSN, as well as chairpersons and leaders of technology associations from across the Asia–Oceania region.
Closing his keynote, Rudi emphasized that cyber resilience is not about preventing every attack, but ensuring that organizations and economies can anticipate, withstand, recover and adapt.
"The goal is not simply to protect individual systems, but to ensure that our region can continue moving forward together."
