Aliyyah Koloc and Adam Lacko target strong start at Baja TT Cuenca as team kicks off busy May schedule.
— Buggyra ZM Racing returns to competition this weekend at the opening round of the FIA European Baja Championship, Baja TT Cuenca in Spain, with two cars in the Ultimate category. Aliyyah Koloc with Polish navigator Marcin Pasek will race in a Red-Lined Revo GTR, while Czech driver Adam Lacko will make his rally-raid debut alongside Italian navigator Mirko Brun in a Red-Lined Revo T1+.

For Aliyyah Koloc, the 2026 season marks a deliberate shift in focus. After several years combining GT circuit racing with off-road competition, the 21-year-old has now fully committed to rally raids. This season, Buggyra has opted to concentrate mainly on the FIA European Baja. The series starts later in the year than the team’s previous programs, giving Aliyyah additional time for physical preparation and Adam the opportunity to ease into rally-raid competition.
Having collected her rally raid experience over the last three years mainly in the FIA Middle East and FIA World Rally Raid Championship, the European Bajas present a different challenge for Aliyyah. “I don’t have much experience racing rallies in Europe, so I am very excited for the new experience,” said Aliyyah. “Baja races are quite different from the rally raids we’re used to. The stages are fast, the race is shorter, and you commit from the first kilometer. There’s also a different kind of energy at the opening race of a championship. No one has points, no clear leader, just a grid full of determined drivers.”
Joining her is Adam Lacko, a familiar face in Buggyra’s truck racing and GT program, who now steps into rally raid for the first time. His navigator Mirko Brun brings relevant team experience, having co-driven Buggyra CEO Martin Koloc at the 2026 Dakar Rally.
“It is my first rally-raid, so I am both excited and a little nervous,” said Adam. “But I have a skilled navigator by my side, and the team has a lot of experience in rally raids. My target is to finish and to learn as much as possible.”
The event is about establishing momentum. While championships aren’t won in the opening round, the team is aiming to build confidence and set the right tone for the season ahead.
About the Baja TT Cuenca
Running since 2016 as part of the Spanish All-Terrain Rally Championship (CERTT), the Baja TT Cuenca takes on new significance in 2026 as the opening round of the FIA European Baja Championship. The event is based near the city of Cuenca, capital of the province of the same name in central Spain.
Twenty-six cars are entered for the event, with 11 crews, including Aliyyah Koloc, registered for the FIA European Baja Cup.
A prologue of 10.20 kilometers on Friday, May 8, determines the starting order. Competitors then face two timed stages on Saturday, May 9 (170.08 km and 101.09 km), followed by a further 108.50 kilometers on Sunday, May 10. Of a total route of 525.18 kilometers, 389.87 kilometers will be timed.
Following Cuenca, the majority of the Buggyra team will travel directly to China, where Aliyyah is entered in the Taklimakan Rally, a two-week rally raid of around 8,000 kilometers through Xinjiang, northwestern China, beginning May 16.
