Review of 1,000 Announcements Finds Nearly One in Four US-Wire Releases Is an Investor Legal Notice

Nearly one in four releases in a sampled US feed was an investor legal notice, while APAC releases more often highlighted launches, events and market growth.

— Nearly one in four releases in a 500-release US-wire sample was an investor legal notice, according to a new EdgeNewswire review of 1,000 press releases. No release in the comparison sample of 500 APAC announcements fell into the same category.

EdgeNewswire examined the most recent 500 announcements distributed through its APAC network and the most recent 500 releases collected from a large US-based newswire. Each title was placed into one of 20 categories. The wire is not named, because the review looks at what fills a feed rather than at how one distributor performs.

In the US sample, 23.8% of releases were securities litigation solicitations. These notices typically alerted investors to investigations or deadlines associated with potential shareholder claims.

The APAC feed leaned more heavily toward visible market activity. Launches, events, partnerships and expansion made up 53.8% of its releases, compared with 29.4% in the US sample.

The two feeds also treated story-driven content differently. Nearly one in ten APAC releases, or 9.6%, presented a broader brand, destination or institutional narrative without one central announcement. Only one of the 500 US releases, or 0.2%, did the same.

The US sample contained more research reports, surveys and expert commentary. Research and thought leadership accounted for 11.4% of that feed, about five times the 2.2% share observed in APAC.

Not every category diverged. Both samples contained 38 financial-results releases, equal to 7.6% on each side. Product and service launches also remained important, representing 19.2% of APAC announcements and 14.6% of the US sample.

The findings describe two specific feeds, not every press release issued in either region.

For an APAC company addressing US readers, that may mean connecting a broad story to a clear event, new data or measurable milestone. For a US company communicating in APAC, it may mean adding context about local relationships, relevance and long-term intent.
