Türkiye recorded USD 13.1 billion in foreign direct investment during 2025, up 12.2% year over year, while Bayraktar Attorneys highlights legal considerations accompanying cross-border investment and international commercial activity.
— Türkiye attracted USD 13.1 billion in foreign direct investment during 2025, representing a 12.2% increase from the previous year, according to balance-of-payments data from the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye cited by the Presidency of Türkiye’s Investment Office.

The result came amid subdued global investment flows and brought cumulative international direct investment into Türkiye since 2003 to more than USD 288 billion. Official figures show the Netherlands as the largest source country, followed by Luxembourg and Kazakhstan, with Germany, the United States, France, the United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Ireland also among leading sources.
For Bayraktar Attorneys, an Istanbul based law firm serving foreign individuals and companies, the figures also highlight legal considerations that can accompany cross-border transactions.
“Türkiye’s renewed appeal to international capital is not an abstract statistic for us. It is reflected directly in the volume and complexity of the files that reach our desks,” said Nevzat Oğulcan Bayraktar, Founding Attorney of Bayraktar Attorneys. “Our role is to make sure that every foreign investor and every Turkish citizen with international ties can navigate this landscape with clarity, security, and full compliance with the law.”
The firm advises international clients on real estate transactions, company formation, tax, residence permits, citizenship procedures and other cross-border legal matters. Bayraktar Attorneys also works with clients managing Turkish matters from abroad through power-of-attorney procedures. Its official website confirms services for foreign individuals and companies across these areas.
Türkiye’s investment environment is developing alongside international commercial relationships. The material supplied by the firm notes negotiations to expand the Türkiye-United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement and reported progress involving legal services, adding another cross-border dimension for businesses and advisers operating between the two jurisdictions.
Bayraktar Attorneys says its international practice is supported by relationships with business partners and correspondent counsel across Europe, North America, the Gulf region and other markets. The team includes Kadir Erdi Oge, a Partner admitted as a Solicitor in England and Wales.
Looking ahead, the firm plans to continue investing in digital legal infrastructure and document-tracking systems intended to make cross-border case management more accessible for clients in different locations.
As international investment into Türkiye develops, legal compliance, transaction structuring and documentation are expected to remain important considerations for investors entering or expanding within the market.
