The change applies to funds already raised through The Buddyhood’s publishing and platform businesses for PAPYRUS UK, as well as qualifying sales through the end of 2026 that had originally been intended to support the charity.

Under the new arrangement, all fundraising collected for PAPYRUS UK to date will be allocated to Beat Eating Disorders.

Products that currently carry PAPYRUS UK fundraising branding will remain available. Where those products previously stated that a portion of sales would benefit PAPYRUS UK, the corresponding donation will instead go to Beat Eating Disorders.

That includes The Dark Side of Fashion, part of The Buddyhood Publishing’s UNFOLLOW graphic novel series. Ten per cent of net proceeds from applicable sales will now be directed to Beat Eating Disorders.

The same reassignment will apply to sales made through the end of 2026 that would otherwise have contributed to PAPYRUS UK.

The Buddyhood said the change is intended to make sure that funds already raised, together with future proceeds linked to affected products, continue supporting organisations working in mental and physical health.

Harleen Ahluwalia-Cook, Director of The Buddyhood, said, “Supporting charities has always been part of how we operate. We want to make sure that funds already raised continue to reach organisations providing meaningful support, and that our customers know help is still available if they need it.”

Beat Eating Disorders provides information and support for people affected by eating disorders, as well as their families and carers. Its services include helplines and other resources aimed at helping people access support when they need it.

The Buddyhood said customers who may previously have expected to access support through PAPYRUS-linked resources should be aware that other services remain available.

People seeking support for eating disorders can contact Beat Eating Disorders or speak with their NHS GP. Those experiencing mental health difficulties can also contact Shout, provided by Mental Health Innovations, or Samaritans. Anyone facing an immediate emergency should contact the appropriate emergency services.

Andrew Ahluwalia-Cook, Director of The Buddyhood, said, “Now more than ever, it is clear how important these services are. We do not want anyone to feel unsupported or alone. Help is still out there.”

The Buddyhood said it will continue updating the allocation of proceeds linked to affected products while maintaining its wider charitable fundraising activity across its publishing and platform businesses.

The organisation has built charitable giving into several of its products and publishing projects, with titles and initiatives linked to issues affecting children, young people and families.
