Gamevice Deck is a really cool add-on gaming controller for your mobile phone if you’re into mobile gaming.
Recently I had the chance to try and review what I think mobile gamers will love. If you’re an avid gamer who spent long hours on mobile games, this is for you.
I am talking about the Gamevice Deck, an external controller that turns your iPhone into a game pad instantly. Unlike most other external game pads, the Gamevice connects directly to the lighting connector so that means zero latency and that also means zero lags between the controller and the smartphone. Your gameplay will be extremely smooth, that’s for sure.

Now let’s dig deeper into the Gamevice controller itself. The controller itself is lightweight, so after attaching your iPhone to the gamepad, it still feels light. To hold the controller itself is very ergonomically comfortable. All the curves are in the right places. Buttons and joysticks are smooth and have a nice click to it.
You can see some similarities of the Gamevice to other gaming controllers with all the buttons and joysticks. At first glance, everything may look flimsy. Trust me, they’re not. You will be spending long hours on your games because everything feels right.
I have tons of positive feedback on the Gamevice deck. But I am not going to flood this review with all of them, but just the important ones especially the handling and responsiveness.
As you can see from the picture above, the lightning port sits in the middle of the deck where you can slot in your iPhone easily. Once connected, a red LED light will pop up to indicate that the device is properly connected and ready to go.
You then pull the latch to lock and tighten everything in place (pic above). This will ensure that you don’t drop the phone while roughing it during gameplay.
Once everything is secured, this is how it looks like.
This is the exciting part. Your fingers won’t be in the way while playing your games because your fingers will be on the controller and not in the screen. Now you’re all set for long hours of gaming.
Like I said earlier, you will see a red LED light appear on the controller once you’ve connected your iPhone to the Gamevice deck.
In case you want to be discreet or running out of juice, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack and a charging port at the bottom of the Gamevice deck. You don’t have to worry about running out of battery.
GamePlay
All I can say while gaming with Gamevice deck is, awesome! Controllers are easy to use, everything is very responsive, zero lagging and all buttons worked well. It is as easy as plug and play.
Putting the Gamevice deck alongside with the awesome iPhone graphics, gaming is fun again. Gameplay is fluid thanks to the direct lightning port connection. Buttons are highly responsive. Joysticks are a joy to use. You have one solid add-on to your iPhone here.
I also let my younger brother in law (he’s 14) have a go with the Gamevice deck. Big mistake because he won’t let go of it. He had tons of fun playing with his role playing games such as Modern Combat 5 and Assassin’s Creed.
There plenty of other games that is compatible with the Gamevice deck. Not all, but still there are plenty.
To find out which games that are compatible, you can download the Gamevice Live app on your phone as a reference. You have thousands of other games that you can download to play with the game deck. At least now you will have things to do on your weekends or late nights.
Conclusion
If you love gaming, you will love this Gamevice deck. Unfortunately it is only available for iPhones 6 and above at the moment. The only compatible Android phones are the Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ and Note 8. You have to understand that there are so many Android phones out there and not all are built in same sizes or specially made to fit the Gamevice deck.
What I love about the Gamevice deck are the super comfortable ergonomics and zero lagging gameplays. Oh, and it is lightweight as well.
Good thing I have an iPhone to try it with. And honestly, I would love to get one for myself.
