When veteran casino players think about Asian casinos, all eyes are on Macau as the mecca of casino gaming in the east. But Macau is just one place where gamers can get their fix. All over Asia, you’ll find some of the most luxurious and creatively designed casinos in the world.

    Casino De Genting – Malaysia

    Casinos in Asia

The Casino De Genting is the main attraction in the Genting Highlands, a large hill station and vacation spot that offers a number of indoor and outdoor attractions. The Crazy Tourist notes that visitors can expect 3,140 slot machines and 426 table games – along with musical shows that perform at the casino on a daily basis. And once you step outside, prepare to be greeted by the crisp mountain air as you discover the many outdoor attractions in the Genting Highlands.

    Marina Bay Sands – Singapore

    Casinos in Asia

Singapore is right up there with Macau in terms of having the most luxurious casinos. The Marina Bay Sands is the crowning jewel of Singapore’s claim to the Asian casino throne. Three gorgeous, 57-storey sloping glass buildings are joined at the top by a cantilevered sky garden – a massive resort and architectural wonder in the Singaporean skyline. The casino is spread across four floors with over 600 gaming tables and 1,500 slot machines. Proof of its massive success is the fact that the resort-casino’s original architects are already making plans to add a fourth tower, including a new entertainment district with its own state-of-the-art 15,000-seat music arena.

    Paradise City – South Korea

    Casinos in Asia

The integrated resort-casino with its own shopping center and entertainment facilities known as Paradise City is actually the largest casino complex in Asia. It’s also right next to Incheon International Airport in South Korea, making it the gateway destination for many gamers that are visiting the region. Apart from its various luxurious attractions on offer, there are also reportedly 2,700 prestigious art works scattered around the complex, which even includes a classic Alessandro Mendini-designed Proust armchair.

    Resorts World – The Philippines

Top 5 Casinos in Asia Away From Outside Macau

Although not exactly world-famous, Resorts World in Manila is another huge integrated resort-casino complex, this time in Southeast Asia. With six different hotels, 10 restaurants, and the 1,500-seat Newport Performing Arts Theater on offer, anyone looking for a distinct luxury experience can find it in the Philippines. Three floors of its main casino are occupied by slot machines, classic table games, and electronic games. And even more games can be found at the Newport Grand Wing gaming area, which opened in 2018.

Silversea Shadow Casino – Hong Kong

Top 5 Casinos in Asia Away From Outside Macau

Being right next to Macau, the Hong Kong casino scene wouldn’t survive without its own boutique offerings. Enter the Silversea Shadow Casino, which is actually not a land-based casino but an overnight casino cruise ship. Roulette, blackjack, and all your other favorite table games are blended with the classic luxury cruise ship experience. They even offer a champagne reception for casino newbies who are just starting to dip their toes into the gaming world.

The casino scene in Asia is set to expand even further in the near future, with Japan granting 3 casino licenses. Sandlot Games reports that MGM Resorts submitted a proposal for a casino license in Osaka. And following its approval with the respective authorities, Japan could soon be added to this list of must-visit casinos in Asia. So although it’s true that Ohsem has previously described Macau as “Asia’s Las Vegas,” and a booming tourist-friendly spot with the world’s best casinos, plenty of other undiscovered casino spots await the world’s most adventurous players. If you’re a veteran gamer who’s looking to take a break from the usual options, feel free to explore these Asian casinos and see for yourself what they’ve got to offer.
