U Mobile, in partnership with Vans Malaysia and Impact Integrated, recently relaunched the iconic Kiara Skatepark which has been refurbished as part of the telco’s Unlimited Moves initiative.
The new and improved Kiara Skatepark, which has been two years in the making due to the pandemic, showed off a fresh new look complete with updated ramps, murals and functional elements like lockers and bleachers for spectators.
The relaunch of the skatepark is extremely timely with growing popularity of sports like roller skating, BMX and especially skateboarding, which debuted at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
With the refurbished Kiara Skatepark, U Mobile hopes to provide youths with a safe and conducive space to unleash their unlimited potential in extreme sports.
During the relaunch event, which was also graced by Deputy Minister of Youth & Sports YB Senator Dato’ Sri Ti Lian Ker, there was an exciting demonstration by the extreme sports community as well as a free grip tape workshop organised by U Mobile and conducted by Joe Ipoh of G Hard Pro Shop.
Attendees also got to take home exclusive T-shirts and tote bags designed by local artist Dianne Tahir aka Kucing Miso.
Kiara Skatepark is now ready to receive visitors with a maximum capacity of 30 people at a time (2.5 hours per session). Its operating hours are from 8.00 am to 7.00 pm every day, subject to amendments.
Entrance is free. For more information about Kiara Skatepark, please visit www.instagram.com/kiaraskatepark. For more information on U Mobile’s Unlimited brand initiatives, follow www.instagran.com/myumobile.
