HONOR Malaysia left no information behind, stating that the new addition to the line of X-series, the HONOR X9a 5G – also a fan favorite among its community – encloses with an Ultra Tough OLED Curved Screen. They have the facts to prove that too!
A publicity video of the HONOR X9a 5G showed how the smartphone underwent a few series of experiments to put the durability of its screen to the test. One of the few tests involved smashing the screen of the HONOR X9a 5G directly on a watermelon and crab.
Not only it withstands the smash test, the sensitivity and screen gestures of the OLED curved screen are still in operative, indicating the phone is not easily damaged. This illustrates that the HONOR X9a 5G is always in one piece even in the face of strong impacts, capable of brushing aside those unintentional minor bumps, further dispelling any earlier concerns of any potential breakability of the curved screen.

The HONOR X9a 5G not only retains its high-end curved screen, but also added on that feature with better and durable materials. The 0.65mm Super Reinforced glass screen cover originally used by the HONOR X9a 5G- in comparison with the 0.55mm glass cover commonly used in the industry – indicating that the increased glass thickness creates a stronger resistance to falls.
This glass screen has passed HONOR’s vigorous tests, which includes repeated 1-meter drops on marble and concrete floors, and multiple-angle rolling drops, among which the micro-drop test was carried out for ten thousand times. The ultra-tough OLED curved screen of the HONOR X9a 5G has overcome the drop test, dispelling any earlier concerns of any potential breakability of the curved screen. That’s not all.
To add further tests to the screen, the experimental officer also conducts a simulated sitting pressure test on the HONOR X9a 5G. This simulation illustrates a user siting down while having a smartphone in its pocket, taking into account multiple body weights, siting postures and different clothing fabrics to play various scenarios. With over thousands of tests including adjustments and optimizations, this ensures the phone withstands sufficient force pressure.

Such exams involves an incubator to represent hot temperatures and a rain device to characterize the cold climate of wind, rain and other relevant conditions.
