Dr. Angela Solic’s Still I Heal Project sheds light on the often overlooked trauma of childhood emotional abuse, offering support for survivors and education for communities.

United States, April 20, 2026 — The Still I Heal Project, founded by Dr. Angela Solic, is a groundbreaking initiative that aims to address a form of childhood trauma that remains largely unseen and ignored: emotional abuse. For many survivors, the scars of this kind of abuse are invisible, leaving them isolated and without the necessary language to identify and address their experiences. Their bodies hold on to the trauma that affects them mentally and physically for the rest of their lives unless it is dealt with. Dr. Solic’s mission is to change this narrative and create a space for healing, education, and advocacy.

Naming the Invisible: Understanding Childhood Emotional Abuse

Emotional abuse, often referred to as “the abuse without bruises,” is a form of trauma that is frequently overlooked and misunderstood. Unlike physical abuse, which leaves clear and undeniable marks, emotional abuse can be subtle, often leaving no visible trace. However, its impact can be profound, lasting a lifetime.

Dr. Solic, who herself survived extensive childhood emotional abuse, has made it her life’s work to bring attention to this hidden epidemic. Through her project, she provides survivors with the validation they need, helping them identify and process their trauma. Her memoir, Beer in My Bottle, offers a raw and personal account of her upbringing, shaped by parental substance abuse, emotional neglect, and psychological harm. The memoir, which is currently seeking literary representation, underscores the deeply rooted, far-reaching effects of emotional abuse on identity, relationships, and self-worth as well as highlights the systems that fail to protect children in these abuse situations.

Through the Still I Heal Project, Dr. Solic is not only sharing her story but is also providing a platform for others to find their voice. She recognizes that many survivors of emotional abuse grow up in environments where this trauma is never acknowledged, leaving them to carry the weight alone. Her project offers a space for survivors to connect, find support, and begin their own healing journey.

The Mission of the Still I Heal Project

The core mission of the Still I Heal Project is to provide education, resources, and advocacy to those impacted by complex trauma, including childhood emotional abuse. Dr. Solic’s project challenges the stigma that surrounds this type of trauma by encouraging open and informed conversations. She strives to empower survivors by equipping them with the tools to recognize and address emotional harm, as well as providing guidance to parents, caregivers, educators, and communities who may be in a position to prevent emotional abuse.

A critical part of the project’s mission is to address the intergenerational impact of emotional abuse. Dr. Solic’s work focuses on helping parents who have experienced emotional abuse in their own childhoods understand the harmful effects it can have on their children. By breaking these cycles, the project aims to create healthier environments for future generations.

Building a Community of Support and Education

Through The Still I Heal Project, Dr. Solic has created an Instagram platform and website where survivors can find educational resources, personal insights, and survivor-centered perspectives. Her social media presence serves as a consistent, open space for raising awareness and destigmatizing the conversation around emotional abuse. The project’s Instagram account, @stillihealproject, provides a twice weekly opportunity for followers to engage with educational content, survivor stories, and updates about the project’s work.

Dr. Solic’s ultimate goal is to broaden the reach of her message through speaking engagements, literary representation, and partnerships that align with her mission. By educating parents, survivors, and professionals, she hopes to foster a cultural shift in how society understands and responds to emotional abuse.

The Still I Heal Project not only provides a source of validation and hope but also seeks to inform and equip communities with the knowledge needed to prevent emotional abuse and support those who have been affected.

    Recognition for Impact and Advocacy

The Still I Heal Project has been awarded the title of Best Survivor Support Community Platform in the United States of 2026 by Evergreen Awards. This recognition highlights the platform’s commitment to advancing education, advocacy, and healing for individuals impacted by childhood emotional abuse and complex trauma.
