— Firstep reported that it has signed more than 100,000 new clients in a single year, marking the first time the company has reached that level of annual client growth. The company said the milestone comes during a year in which annual sales have exceeded $20 million, with services offered across the United States.

Firstep provides business startup support, state compliance services, and software tools for small businesses. Company materials state that its customer base includes solopreneurs and operators in home and personal service fields such as pressure washing, cleaning, lawn and landscaping, hair, massage, catering, baking, art, and pet care.
Total client count has now passed 200,000, according to the company. Firstep also said that since the launch of its ongoing services at the beginning of 2024, more than 50 percent of orders have included some type of recurring service.
A major product in that offering is the company’s automatic annual reports service, which handles recurring state filings unless a client makes changes through the dashboard. Firstep said the service is intended to help small business owners avoid missed deadlines, late fees, and administrative dissolution tied to noncompliance.
“The idea here is that we will take care of your company’s annual reports automatically, giving the client the opportunity to make changes if needed in our dashboard, but if they don’t or forget to, we will file their annual reports automatically so they don’t fall out of compliance, get late fees, or have their business administratively dissolved,” said Ben Czajka, a representative of Firstep.
Separate tools on the platform cover credit card payments, appointment scheduling, social posting, website creation, sales funnels, and AI chatbots. Firstep said those tools are offered through one dashboard so business owners can manage compliance and daily operations in one place rather than using several unrelated services.
“Our platform can run the entire business, with tools that talk to one another, for maximum efficiency and business growth,” Czajka said.
Competition in the business formation and compliance sector remains strong, with LegalZoom, ZenBusiness, and Bizee listed by the company among the largest competitors. Firstep said its recent customer growth has largely come through that channel, while broader outreach for its business management platform is expected to target existing businesses in the months ahead.
