Luca founded Lifestyle Event Designs at 61, following a career that included corporate event coordination, design, and hosting. Her decision to establish the company came after years of experience behind the scenes and a desire to pursue event design independently. The business specializes in weddings, celebrations, destination events, and occasions where décor is an important part of the setting.
“Age should never determine whether you pursue the dream that is in your heart,” said Luca. “I believe that when you are passionate about what you do, there is always an opportunity to create, grow, and inspire others along the way.”
Lifestyle Event Designs handles event planning and coordination, with its work covering weddings and other private and special occasions. Luca is involved in the planning process from the initial concept through the event itself, including decisions around décor, florals, and the overall setting.
Luca also uses existing and vintage materials in some of her event designs, including silver-plated pieces, heirloom lace, antique frames, mannequins, preserved florals, and found objects. These materials are incorporated into the décor according to the requirements of each event. Luca says this approach reflects her interest in giving older or personal objects a place within contemporary celebrations.
One of Luca’s notable creative projects is the Greek Goddess Floral Mannequin Collection, a series that turns mannequins into elaborate floral art pieces inspired by Greek goddesses. The designs have been used as decorative features for weddings, bridal showers, receptions, and other celebrations.
The company has worked on a range of events, including birthdays, anniversaries, communions, christenings, bar and bat mitzvahs, baby celebrations, corporate events, seasonal installations, and galas. The styles and décor used vary according to the type of event and the preferences of the client.
“Every celebration has a story, and my job is to help bring that story to life through design,” Luca said. “I want clients to walk into their celebration and feel something, to see their vision reflected in every detail and then be free to enjoy the moment they worked so hard to create.”
As Lifestyle Event Designs enters its fourth year, Luca continues to develop the company’s work around event design, coordination, and handcrafted décor. For Luca, the three-year milestone also represents a personal example of her belief that starting a business can be possible at any age when the work is grounded in genuine interest and experience.
