— On 18 August, a mangrove-planting charity event themed “Green Together, Protecting Our Coastline” was held at Sijangkang Mangrove Park in Selangor, Malaysia. The event was hosted by the China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (CECCM) and organized by the Southeast Asia Regional Management Company of CNPC Huanqiu Contracting & Engineering Corporation. The event was attended by the Embassy of China in Malaysia, the Kuala Langat Municipal Council, CECCM, and over 20 other Chinese and Malaysian enterprises, with more than 90 representatives from the media and business communities taking part.

Mangroves are widely known as the “ecological guardians” of coastal wetlands, serving as a vital green barrier between ocean and land. They play a crucial role in protecting coastlines, preventing soil erosion, and preserving biodiversity. Anchored in mangrove conservation, this CNPC E-Light international communication initiative showcased, through green actions that are genuine, tangible, and warm-hearted, CNPC’s sincere aspiration to join hands with all sectors of Malaysian society in advancing green development and building a better future together.
The event seamlessly integrated ecological education, volunteer service, and engagement with local stakeholders, turning ecological awareness into concrete action. Working side by side with local institutions and various sectors of the community, CNPC and all participants planted over 200 mangrove saplings, adding a fresh touch of green to the coastline and further strengthening the collective effort to protect the ecosystem.

From individual saplings to a swath of fresh green, the event wove together ecological conservation, corporate social responsibility, and people-to-people friendship, bringing tangible momentum to deeper China-Malaysia green cooperation and stronger bonds between the two peoples—all while showcasing CNPC as a company deeply rooted in the local community and steadfast in fulfilling its responsibilities. As the saplings take root along the coastline, they also carry with them the cherished hope that the friendship between China and Malaysia will flourish and remain evergreen for generations to come.
CNPC has always actively fulfilled its social responsibilities, upheld the principle of ecological conservation, and prioritized local community development and biodiversity protection. Through innovation, it drives the transition to green development; through collaboration, it connects diverse civilizations; through action, it safeguards the well-being of communities. What everyone planted together was not merely saplings, but a shared commitment to cherishing the ecological environment, a shared commitment to green development, and a shared commitment to the land of Malaysia. This mangrove forest is a compelling E-Light story in itself—one that records not only the collective act of tree-planting and the collective responsibility of safeguarding the ecosystem, but also the friendship forged through a common commitment to green development and deepened through cooperation.
