Bildad St. Louis Expands Digital Healthcare Platform With Clinical Care, Peer Support, and Concierge Navigation

Bildad St. Louis expands his digital healthcare platform to integrate clinical care, peer support, and concierge navigation, aiming to improve access and guidance without claiming treatment outcomes.

— Digital architect and social innovation strategist Bildad St. Louis is expanding his digital healthcare work into a broader care navigation model designed to bring clinical providers, peer support, concierge assistance, and technology‑enabled guidance together within a single digital experience. The expansion comes as healthcare organizations continue to face workforce and access challenges across the United States.

A 2026 workforce report projects a physician shortage of up to 86,000 by 2036 and identifies more than 7,700 designated primary‑care Health Professional Shortage Areas affecting approximately 76 million Americans. The report also points to continued staffing challenges in rural communities and an aging physician workforce.

At the same time, behavioral health needs remain significant. According to a national survey on drug use and health, 61.5 million U.S. adults experienced a mental illness during the previous year, while 48.4 million people age 12 and older met the criteria for a substance use disorder. Against that backdrop, St. Louis’ platform is being developed around a model that combines remote access to healthcare professionals with additional support intended to help users navigate the process of finding and arranging care.

The platform’s expanded model incorporates clinical providers, peer‑support resources, concierge navigation, and technology‑assisted guidance. The concierge component is intended to assist users with practical steps such as identifying appropriate providers, arranging appointments, and navigating insurance‑related questions, while clinical services remain delivered by qualified healthcare professionals.

Rather than positioning telehealth as a replacement for traditional healthcare, St. Louis describes the platform as an additional access point that can connect people with appropriate services while maintaining the role of primary‑care physicians, specialists, and in‑person providers. “Technology and telehealth are critical because they meet people where they are and give them an access point that is available when they are ready,” he says. “But the technology itself is only part of the solution. People also need support in understanding what services are available and how to move through the healthcare system.”

The platform’s development builds on St. Louis’ earlier work in digital healthcare and telehealth, including an initial platform focused on addiction‑treatment aftercare. His experience during the COVID‑19 pandemic also included work involving remote behavioral‑health access for university students. That experience contributed to the decision to expand the platform beyond a single telehealth function. St. Louis says the goal is to create a digital environment in which healthcare access includes both professional services and practical navigation support.

The emphasis on navigation reflects an issue that can extend beyond provider availability. Patients may need to determine which type of professional to see, identify providers who accept their insurance, schedule appointments, and understand the next steps in their care. A digital platform can provide an additional layer of assistance throughout that process.

St. Louis’ approach is also informed by personal experiences with addiction, mental health, and difficulty accessing care. He has lost people close to him, including his brother, during periods involving addiction and mental health challenges. During another period of personal loss, he experienced difficulty finding a therapist himself. “I couldn’t get access when I needed it,” St. Louis shares. “Building a platform that served my own needs and now serves others means everything to me.”

The expanded platform does not claim to replace medical treatment or guarantee specific health outcomes. Instead, its focus is on connecting users with healthcare professionals and support resources while addressing some of the practical steps involved in accessing care.

As telehealth becomes an increasingly established part of the U.S. healthcare landscape, St. Louis believes the next stage of digital healthcare will involve more than simply moving appointments online. “The question is not only whether someone can have a video appointment,” he remarks. “It is whether they can understand where to go, find the right support, and actually take the next step.” The expansion represents the next stage of St. Louis’ work at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and social innovation, with the platform continuing to develop around clinical access, peer support, and patient navigation.
