NRF expects pet costume spending to rise about 7% from its 2025 forecast. Kwik Pets adds a free mystery gift and four themed doors for shoppers.
— Halloween shoppers plan to spend more on pet costumes this year. The National Retail Federation (NRF) expects total Halloween spending to reach $13.5 billion and pet costume spending to reach $920 million in 2026, up about 7% from its 2025 forecast of $860 million. Kwik Pets, an online pet supply store based in Gilbert, has opened its Halloween Shop
What the NRF survey found –
- Total Halloween spending has risen more than 68% since 2019, not adjusted for inflation.
- About half of shoppers surveyed plan to start in September or earlier.
- Pumpkins, hot dogs, and ghosts are among the most popular pet costumes.
