— OCTAVE Living introduced two retreat programs focused on perimenopause and menopause at a women’s vitality forum held Oct. 18 at SANGHA Retreat by OCTAVE in Suzhou, China. The event brought together health professionals, women entrepreneurs and brand representatives to discuss women’s health needs at different life stages.
Titled “Her Future, A New Chapter of Life,” the forum was part of the Suzhou edition of the 12th Healing Arts Festival. The program featured presentations, a panel discussion and experiential activities, with a focus on women ages 35 and older.
David Chen, managing director of OCTAVE Living, delivered opening remarks on the organization’s work in holistic health, lifestyle practices and quality of life.
He Yuerong, PhD a magnetobiology expert and Lifetime Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, discussed the relationship between nutrition, dietary habits and women’s health. Lan Yu, founder of fashion brand LANYU, explored self-expression and personal growth through creative work.
Life coach Irene Wang of SANGHA Retreat moderated a panel featuring Li Shengnan, associate chief physician in gynecology at Longhua Hospital, affiliated with Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine; Li Minfang, representing sleep wellness brand Mishuifang; Bai Yafang, founder of wellness brand Duifang; and Elaine Gong, founder of SIMPLY THIS.
The panel addressed physical changes, sleep, skin care and everyday wellness practices. Participants discussed individual health needs, access to professional guidance and the practical challenges of incorporating health recommendations into daily routines.
During the program introduction, Poe Liu, OCTAVE’s director of wellness products, presented a women’s health support initiative and two retreat programs: Yuehua Chuzhuan and Huazhang Xinqi.
Yuehua Chuzhuan is a three-day, two-night program designed for women experiencing perimenopause. According to OCTAVE, it combines targeted assessments, approaches informed by Chinese and Western medicine, and mind-body practices. The program also includes guidance on continuing relevant daily practices after the retreat.
Huazhang Xinqi is a four-day, three-night program focused on menopause. Its planned components include health assessments, medical management, traditional Chinese medicine and functional training.
Together, the programs reflect OCTAVE’s approach to developing health-related services around the needs associated with different life stages. By introducing the programs alongside discussions involving health professionals and wellness brands, OCTAVE sought to connect professional perspectives with structured retreat experiences and ongoing daily practices.
The event also included a singing bowl session, opportunities to explore the retreat’s art spaces and informal conversations over tea, complementing the forum’s discussions with opportunities for reflection and personal exchange.
Looking ahead, OCTAVE said it plans to continue collaborating with professional institutions, health brands and lifestyle partners to develop services and content that address women’s needs at different life stages. The planned work aims to extend the conversation beyond individual events by connecting professional expertise, wellness experiences and everyday practices.
The forum and the introduction of the two retreat programs mark a step in that direction, bringing women’s health discussions together with the development of services designed to support women through different stages of life.
