With all the hype about smartwatch launches by the mainstream tech companies that are currently circulating the social media network these past few days, there is another watch being launched and sold for a sole purpose of charity and NOT for profit. Of course, their watches are nothing like those of Samsung, LG and the rumoured Apple’s iWatch, but rather a cheap non-smartwatch for the basic use like telling you the current date and time.

Let me introduce to you the 1:Face Charity Watch. Their motto is “Changing the world 1:face at a time”. What they offer is a chance for you to purchase a watch and the proceeds will go to the selected cause based on which watch you buy. Here’s a little excerpt from their page:

1Face supports nine causes; cancer, hunger, breast cancer, clean water, disaster relief, environment, AIDS, education, and animal rights, and have partnered with different charities to bring global change. Each cause has a specific metric that tells you exactly what you purchase does. From building wells to providing a year of education, 1Face is committed to bringing about change, worldwide.

Each watch that you buy, will go to each respective cause(s). One example given is that when you buy a watch that supports Hunger (white colour 1:Face watch), the proceed will be able to provide food for 10 people. Each cause will be represented by a different colour watch. Choose your desired colour or cause and you’re good to go. Each 1:Face watch will only cost you USD$40.

However, if you opt for the special version of a 1:Face watch which is a touchscreen, you will be able to donate to all the causes. But the watch will cost you USD$99 instead. But I bet the price is still cheaper than those mainstream smartwatches (obviously). But this is for a good cause, don’t you think so?

So head on over to their official website if you wish to purchase this ohsem watch for an ohsem cause. I’m just waiting for my monthly salary to clear so that I can buy one. I’m more than happy to help to make a difference in someone’s life.

With the dedicated ground work from our partner charities, we are able to build wells, provide meals, provide medication and medical treatment, contribute to finding cures and improve living conditions.

Make the decision to help, be part of the solution and global change.
